We Need Clarity to Submit to God’s Will

Imagine you are asked to do something for someone you did not know well. What if a stranger asked you for a ride into town? Or to take a package on a plane? But what if you knew the person intimately for many years. You knew their character, their morals, their motivations? What if the person was your father or husband? We will only submit when we trust. We only can only trust someone who has our best interest at heart. But many of us have a distorted view of God.

Working Harder is Not the Answer!

I’d like to set the record straight. We are not the perfect homeschool family. I am not a super mom that has it all together. Most of my life I have run on a performance treadmill attempting to earn love and acceptance from God and others. The result has been a mess.

Concern Over Hebrew Ways

A lot of Christians investigating Heart of Wisdom show concern about our focus on the Hebrew people and methods. Why?

Well, it is somewhat normal to react this way– It’s the same as the wrath of a mother bear protecting her baby out of love. We don’t want anything to take away from the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. Any hint of needing to add some kind of work makes those who love Christ and appreciate His sacrifice respond with a knee-jerk reaction –they are being loyal to our Messiah.

Did You Lose it With Your Children AGAIN?

Have you ever lost it with your children, say a lot of things you regretted, then felt like a heel? Did you confess it? Did you lose it again a few days (hours) later? Why can’t we get victory over sin that plagues us?

You may have a spiritual blockage obstructing the flow of the Holy Spirit…

Amazing Promises Jesus Made

The majority of Christian men and women who pray to a Living God know very little about real prevailing prayer? Yet prayer is the key which unlocks the door of God’s treasure-house. It is not too much to say that all real growth in the spiritual life-all victory over temptation, all confidence and peace in the presence of difficulties and dangers, all repose of spirit in times of great disappointment or loss, all habitual communion with God-depend upon the practice of secret prayer.

Christmas in Perspective

The gospel is the news that Jesus Christ has received us into his life. We don’t make Jesus part of our world; he has made us part of his, part of his life and relationship with his Father, part of his anointing in the Spirit, part of his relationship with his creation. It is this reality that summons us to faith and repentance…

Happy Hanukkah

The Holiday of Lights — celebrating the miracle of a little oil that lasted eight days, and continues to illuminate our lives to this day.

Jesus preached three sermons in which he declared Himself the “light of the world,” and all three could have been during Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights.

Another Blood Transfusion

The hospital just called and rescheduled my blood transfusion for Thursday morning 8:00. Recently, I had several hospital procedures preformed to find the cause of intestinal bleeding I’d battled for several years (put on the back burner for a while to deal with heart issues). I lost 3 units of blood in the last few [...]

Greek vs Hebrew Thought

What we now consider “The Church” is almost nothing like the Early New Testament Church. Think of an archeologist digging through layers to find out what life was like in ancient times.
To understand the Early Church we must dig through layers of a mountain of man’s influences shoveling off and discarding man’s traditions, theories, interpretations, [...]

How Do You View God? Loving Father or Angry Judge?

Fruit of the Spirit Friday
How Do You View God? Loving Father or Angry Judge?

The ancient Greek’s viewed god as judgmental, angry, and elderly–detached from the world waiting just for someone to do something wrong. Sadly, this Greek view has permeated Western society.
Jesus’  disciples requested, “Teach us to pray.”  He answered with a prayer beginning with [...]

What Homeschoolers Should Know About Learning Styles

Studies show that seventy percent of children do NOT learn well in the way the schools teach-lecture/ textbook/ test–most students need more.
Learning styles researchers state there are 4 identifiable learners. The four-step lesson cycle is a way to teach to all four learning styles. It does not isolate one type of learning but, instead, teaches [...]

Spiritual Fruit Begins with Spiritual Rest

Fruit of the Spirit Friday - Spiritual Rest

Jesus said He would give rest to those who were weary and heavy laden. Spiritual rest is not lying down to take a nap. God didn’t rest on the seventh day because He was tired. His rest was a cessation of labor.
Rest is the opposite of work or [...]

God So Loved the World

Every religion has a distant god far away from lowly humans. The human’s goal in life is to earn a place near him/her/them. But nothing they do is ever enough.
Christianity is different. God came to us. The faithful and dearly loved Son entered into this fallen world and went to the cross to bring us [...]
